Stowe Hill Marine has a long established reputation for luxurious traditional style narrowboats. The most spectacular of these are its tugs and, of these, Milan is probably the ultimate feast of Stowe Hill line and gorgeous detail. Originally 52ft, Milan was subsequently stretched to make her 64ft. At this time, the owner carried out a refurb forward of the engine room, creating a modern, classy interior, with walk-through shower room, a day room, walk-through galley and saloon. Flooring throughout is mainly hardwearing Karndean, worktops are luxurious granite. 230V power when not connected to a landline, is provided by a Victron 3kW inverter/charger. Home comforts are provided by Eberspacher diesel central heating with a solid fuel stove in the saloon and a Boatmans range in the back cabin. Hot water is provided by the engine, boiler and immersion. For those who appreciate a traditional touch, Peter Hill's scumbling is preserved in the back cabin and engine room, along with traditional rose and castle decoration typically found in back cabins. Propulsion is provided by a Russell Newbery, widely regarded as the most authentic of traditional diesels and a head-turner.
